Embedded Software Engineer


Multiple Positions Available: Troxler Electronic Laboratories, Inc. is seeking Embedded Software Engineer – in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. Work through embedded code development, maintenance, validation, and release following a structured engineering process. Design software architecture for embedded systems and their interaction of laboratory equipment using C, C++, Python, Visual C, in embedded and PC environments. Work with engineering team and marketing to identify needs for customers of wheel tracker, gyroscopic compactor, gauges, and ovens. Incorporate specified needs of company and customers into new and existing products. Resolve issues with existing products like wheel trackers to perform consistent tests and collect data. Work on cross functional teams of software designers and User experience team to analyze and validate new features before they are built, including analysis of user interface/user experience designs to give feedback on technical feasibility as well as helping to build functional prototypes using XML, Python, and React Native. Work alongside user experience team to come up with a product that is easy to use for consumers. Build software prototypes for usability testing in order to verify whether the design have any usability issues. Discuss with supervisor to finalize the design and prototype process. Evaluate and make recommendations on cost control, reliability and manufacturability of products. Execute and implement software engineering change orders (ECO). Provide customer support and education when needed.


Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Computer Science, (any) Engineering, or directly related field of study, plus two (2) years of experience in the position offered or similar embedded software development position. Must have two (2) years of experience with the following skills: embedded software development, C, C++, Python, Visual C, JavaScript, MATLAB, LabVIEW, and VHDL.
